Herbs are a great way to add flavor to foods or simply a little aroma to the garden. Many herbs like thyme, lavender, lemon balm, oregano, marjoram, chives, tarragon, curry plant and mints are perennial (comes back year after year). While others like sage and rosemary are tender which means in our mild winters they will survive but can freeze out in colder winters (generally below zero). Finally there are herbs that you replant annually like basil, cilantro, dill, parsley, sweet bay (bay leaf), lemon verbena, lemon grass, and much more. Spring is usually when we our best selection of these herbs, so check and see what we have.
