Trees are a wonderful addition to a yard because they provide shade and comfort.  If the tree is placed in the right spot it will also shade the house and help conserve energy by cooling the house in the summer time.  We carry a large selection of trees that can fit the size of  your yard and your needs.

Trees in Pots
Trees in Pots are trees that raised in plastic for containers.  Our trees are potted and allowed to develop healthy root system over a growing season; to allow the tree to be planted and take off with minimum transplant shock.  Our potted trees start from 1/2 inch caliper (the diameter of trunk) to roughly 1 3/4 inch caliper.  These can be planted almost year round, you just want to avoid extreme heat (above 90 degrees Fahrenheit) or the cold temperatures (below 32 degrees Fahrenheit) this is easy because the ground tends to be frozen so you can't the tree anyway.  The ideal months for Trees in Pots is February to June and September to December (when we have normal winters unlike December 2008).

Trees in the Field
Trees in the Field are trees that are grown in a field raised to the size of 1 1/2 to 7 inch diameter of trunk (caliper) while most of trees are in the caliper size of 1 3/4 to 4 inches.  Unlike the potted trees these trees need to be planted when they are dormant December to April (depending on the species).  The field trees are dug bare root (no dirt), then wrapped in a straw-plastic diaper that keeps the roots moist until they are planted, typically the same day that they are dug.  Bare root is nice because a person or group of people can handle a larger tree.  Though we would like to suggest anything over 4 inches in caliper, this is best to be handled with equipment due to the size and weight of a tree over 16 feet tall.
