Fertilizing Guides for Trees

Good Fertilizing Practices
We recommend using the following products.

Fertilome Start N Grow every April 1st and July 1st.  For deciduous trees you want to first measure the tree's trunk diameter 6 inches above the ground.  Then you apply 3/8 of a cup per 1 inch diameter of trunk. For evergreens you want to measure the height, then apply 3/8 of cup per 2 feet of height.

Fertilome Rhododendron, Camelia, Evergreen Food every April 1, Memorial Day and August 15th. For deciduous trees you want to first measure the tree's trunk diameter 6 inches above the ground.  Then you apply 1/4 of a cup per 1 inch diameter of trunk. For evergreens you want to measure the height, then apply 1/4 of cup per 2 feet of height.

Miracle-Gro Fertilizer Tree Spikes every April 1 and August 15.  You may have to use an additional fertilizer, or to adjust the ph of the soil.  Follow the size chart on the label based on the diameter of the tree's canopy.
